The Best Ways To Travel On A Day Out In Sydney

People come to Sydney for all kinds of different reasons. Some people love to sample the delights of Chinatown; some like to browse around the shops in Market City; others make straight for the Galeries Victoria, while the best destination for many is the Harbour area and its many shops, restaurants and water based attractions.

But whatever you are visiting for and whatever you intend to do, you need a reliable and quick way to get around when you are travelling from place to place. There is nothing worse on a day out than having to spend ages waiting for delayed trains, or getting lost trying to get from one place to another.

Luckily Sydney has a system which makes light work of getting around. Thanks to the Sydney light rail and the Monorail, tourists and locals can move around the city much more easily than they ever did in the past. The Monorail has also become something of a Sydney attraction in itself, since the system is actually quite rare – there aren’t that many Monorails in existence in major world cities. That fact tends to ensure that tourists flock straight for it to get a great view of the city that they couldn’t have had a few short years ago.

The Monorail has been designed to go past most of the main attractions in the heart of Sydney itself. If you love the atmosphere of Chinatown then you can hop off at the Dixon Street stop to sample all the delights it has to offer, before hopping back on again to try somewhere else. While you could walk between many of the attractions the view you get from the Monorail makes it a much more desirable and irresistible way to travel!

The light rail takes you out to see some of the more sprawling areas of west Sydney. This is a little more removed from the hustle, bustle and excitement of Sydney city, but it’s no less exciting for that. A great example is the sights and smells of the Sydney Fish Market – an unmissable destination for fish lovers and a chance to pick up some fish for a great dinner when you get back to where you’re staying.

If you have the kids in tow and you want to wear them out in preparation for a good night’s sleep, then it’s a simple matter of hopping on the light rail and getting off at the Jubilee Park stop. This drops you right near to the Bicentennial Park, which is designed for plenty of outdoor activities and has children’s playgrounds for the kids to enjoy while you have a relaxing couple of hours with your feet up enjoying the sunshine.

It’s clear that if you want to get around in Sydney, the best way to do it is by using the Monorail and the light rail systems. Not only do they connect you with the best sights, they are also a pleasure to travel on.

Sydney Monorail and Metro Light Rail are two unique transport systems owned by Metro Transport in Sydney, Australia. They offer clean and pleasant transport in the Sydney CBD and inner west. For special offers and discount coupons, please visit Sydney Restaurants.
